Broken Vessel

Jerry Browning

I had a little vessel, ‘twas fashioned out of clay.
I handled it quite carelessly, it fell and broke one day.
I took it to a potter who mended it with glue,
He polished up the edges and made it look like new.

CHORUS:
Broken vessel, soul of man,
Gently placed in the potter’s hand,
He can mend it and make it whole.
Jesus mends the broken soul.

I had a gift from heaven, a living soul from God
I dragged it through the dirt and sin, on it Satan trod.
I broke it into pieces and scattered it so low,
But Jesus came and mended it, the Potter of my soul.

CHORUS:

My friend, it doesn’t matter how shattered life is now.
The Lord will take the pieces as He alone knows how.
He’ll shape and mold the fragments until your spirit’s whole.
Yes, Jesus is your Savior, the mender of your soul.

CHORUS:
