The Leper

Luke 17:11-19
Hey! Glad to be healed! Grateful? Of course I was! That man, Jesus, didn't have to heal me! After all, I'm not a Jew but I am a Samaritan! But then leprosy doesn't know anything about race and religion, it hits all people.
A couple of people in the group that I had been with had relatives that still cared about them. They came and told them about Jesus healing people. We all conferred and decided that it was worth a try. At first, when we were told to go and show the Priests, I didn't think anything of it, but then I looked at my
hands and arms and found that they were clean and whole, I just had to come back and say thanks!
No, I don't know what happened to the others. We were partners in despair, but once healed, we had nothing in common. Jews and Samaritans just don't mix, you know. They probably went straight to a Priest to be declared clean. Frankly, at the moment, I don't care where they went. I'm just glad and thankful to be healed! Leprosy is such an isolating disease. Thanks be to God for healing!
