The buzz-word of today seems to be "diversity":
celebrating everything that is different from me!
We get so wrapped up in the words we say
We forget about the message Jesus sent our way:
"Be true unto God and make love your middle name,
and remember in your spirit where it counts we are the same."

Chorus:
We are one in the Spirit, one in Christ;
One body, many members, each unique in God's eyes.
You can be different, you don't have to change
Just as long as in your spirit where it counts we are the same.

Verse 2
You can call God "Father", "Parent", or "Mother"
But the Great I Am is still God, there ain't no other!
Call Jesus "Savior", "Lord", or "the Christ"
But the Redeemer of the World is still the only way to life!
You can say "Holy Spirit", "Holy Ghost", or "Ms. Thang";
Just be sure that in your spirit where it counts we are the same!

You can worship at High Mass or roll down the aisles;

Just get Jesus in your heart, that's what you need to do!
Be Alliance, Methodist, or MCC in name
