I was alone
With no one to guide me.
At first I thought
That I needed not
Any guide at all;
But soon my loneliness
Became a burden
Till I could not bear it.
In desperation
I searched the world o’er
Looking for one
Who would be my guide,
But I found not a one
Till I looked beside me.
