He Gives

And He gives to me
Peace.
Not the world's peace
Nor as those
Of the world understand,
But a peace
That is deeper, fuller
Than I could ever express.

And He gives to me
Love.
Love in full measure
Tamped down,
And running over,
A love that is more,
Deeper, better,
Than any other love
This world could give.

And He gives to me
Life.
Greater, longer
Than my life could ever be
If He were not near.
For I could have nothing
Without Him.

These He gives to me,
Peace, love, life.
Even though
I do not deserve
The smallest part of them.
He gives them to me
Freely.
And so I give back
Love, faith, and all my life;
My whole being
I give
To my God,
The Lord of Creation.
